About Eins
Eins is a free, browser-based card game loosely based on Crazy Eights. One human plays
against three bot opponents, with each bot randomly assigned an offensive
or defensive strategy at the start of the tournament. Bots only see their
own hand and the top of the discard pile — exactly the same information
available to you.
How to play
- On your turn, play a card that matches the top of the discard pile by color or by number/symbol.
- Wild and Wild Draw Four cards let you choose the active color.
- If you have no playable card, click the draw pile. If your drawn card is playable you may play it, otherwise your turn ends.
- When you have two cards left, press the Eins! button before playing your next card. If you forget, the next player can challenge you for a six-card penalty.
- The first player to discard their last card wins the round.
Tournament scoring
At the end of each round, the winner collects points from the other
players' remaining cards: number cards count their face value;
Skip, Reverse, Draw Two, and −1 are worth 20 points each; Wild,
Wild Draw Four, and Wild Draw Six are worth 50 points each. The
first player to reach 500 points wins the tournament.
Action cards
- Skip — the next player loses their turn.
- Reverse — play direction reverses.
- Draw Two — the next player draws two cards and loses their turn.
- −1 (Minus One) — one per color. After playing, the same player gets to discard another card on top of it (a chain card).
- Wild — the player chooses a new active color.
- Wild Draw Four — choose a color, and the next player draws four cards and loses their turn.
- Wild Draw Six — two of these in the deck. Choose a color, and the next player draws six cards and loses their turn.
